If you build it, they will come. That’s how the old adage goes, and it seemed to have held some truth in the technology world, at least for awhile. But these days, with so much new technology being unveiled daily, it’s conceivable that through sheer volume, specialized and sometimes even broad-based technology might actually be overlooked, or at minimum, not get the kind of attention it deserves.

That’s where we come in.

jumpintotomorrow is a site that lists, features and promotes technology from all the corners of the world, provided by the product creators themselves – and it’s updated every single day. Besides working with these creators to help them tell their stories to what's often a larger audience than they may've been used to, we'll take things one step farther and honor the “Technology of the Day,” thus encouraging visitors to check back in every day to see what will win the next day. And because we’ve categorized the technologies into an array of divisions – from Aerospace to Law & Order to Transportation – what might be an award-winning breakthrough in consumer electronics one day could easily be followed up by some incredible innovation in biotechnology the next.

What we know is that all these great ideas are being developed and packaged, and yet, this wealth of important and game-changing information isn’t being properly celebrated. Our decision on the “Technology of the Day” will be based primarily on the “amazing factor,” but it will also be strongly influenced by the technology’s ability to help and inspire others – along with its ability to strongly influence other technologies. Our goal is to have these product technologists and innovative thinkers speak beyond their peer group to the world at large, not just because it’ll be a gathering place for all, but because we've come to be excited about simply what’s next.

The biggest benefit to the site as we see it is this: with all this varying technology and amazing thinking located in the same place, what once may’ve been thought of as a niche product or obscure idea, can suddenly be appreciated by others on the outside who see the spark of something bigger. That niche product could very well provide the impetus for that particular specialty’s next generation. Or, perhaps that one innovation could be the key that opens up something else that ultimately benefits the mainstream. It will all be here, waiting.

JumpintoTomorrow is more than a place housing breakthrough technology and a regular recipient of the Technology of the Day Award. We anticipate this site being the portal people will visit everyday to see what the newest thing is today. But, we want people to challenge our thinking – after all, isn’t technological advancement about going beyond that which is popularly believed? Because of that, visitors to the site will be given the option to vote on all the other technologies and ideas we didn’t choose.

The innovation that garners the most votes after one week from the time of upload will be given our “Technology of the Week” Award. We want the public looking at what we didn’t select, telling us there’s something else out there – this week – that really deserves not just our attention, but more importantly, the public’s. Think about how vital that award will be when it’s won, because thousands, if not millions of people looked at it, learned about it and thought it merited “TotW” recognition.

Beyond Technology of the Day and the Technology of the Week, we know we will receive products that are fantastic, but just didn’t win one of these two awards. In those cases, products could still win our “Category Best,” otherwise known as our Best in Class Award. We will choose these Best in Category winners (one from each of our 24 categories), and once chosen, that product will remain atop its category until unseated by another technology in its same class. And though it’s possible that a Category Best leader could lose its place after one day should we find something else to move into its position, chances are it could remain class leader for days, if not weeks, until something else better takes over.

Will there be phenomenal technology that won’t win any awards? Of course. But there's no better place to discuss it than in our forum. Though being on the site says something special about each of these companies, innovations and individuals, it's merely just the beginning of us getting to know them and their thinking.

Our vision is to list all this cutting-edge work for everyone to see, appreciate and even pursue (all products will have links to their own websites). Plus, not every technology and/or great idea results in something you can buy - sometimes it's a cause you'll feel compelled to join, other times it may be a product you'll want to sign up to get, and still other times you'll find that this company with this great idea is actually one in which you can invest. Now, it’s time for each of these companies, individuals and their innovations to be unveiled, and we are happy to provide the audience for that unveiling.

Where there is technology, there is synergy. We know others will see what is amazing today, and use it to make something even more amazing tomorrow.

So yes, if you build it they will come. But if you build it and upload it, they will come in droves. They will most definitely come in droves.

In fact, they may just jump in like never, ever before.
